Abstract   Dermatomyositis is a disease of unknown etiology characterized by proximal muscle weak- ness and specific cutaneous findings. This disorder is closely related to polymyositis, which has al1 the muscular features of dermatomyositis without the presence of skin disease. Dermatomyositis seems to be characterized by an increased frequency of internal malignancy. We wish to report herein a case of dermatomyositis associated with breast cancer in 43- year-old woman, and reviewed the literature on the relationship of dermatomyositis and malignancy.
